Thailand
Bangkok
The city of sin, where everything seems possible, is more than only a travel through city and at least 2-3 days worth. A Klong Tour through the hidden canals is a must do to get an impression of the beauty and variety of the city. Also visit the Nonthaburi market, the famous floating market and the Wat Arun temple.
Koh Phayam
The small island near to the border of Burma is a quiet place to relax. No cars, only few tourists, no parties, but a beautiful nature and three awesome beaches make this island so special. In order to explore, you should rent a motorbike for 3 Euro per day, when you arrive with the ferry.
The monkey beach (Kwang Pib) in the north is absolutely my favorite place on Koh Phayam. A hidden paradise beach with one resort and just a few people, surrounded by a jungle with wild apes. Just be careful, driving uphill the last 300 meters before the beach.
This is also the hotspot for snorkeling and sea excursions.
The Hippie Bar in the Buffalo Bay (Khao Kwai) will be one of your favorite evening hotspots. The Bar is a giant, wooden ship with different levels to chill. A beautiful sunset view and daily live music makes it a perfect place to fade out a good day. The Jamaica Bar on the Long Beach is also worth a visit. Great music, great drinks and great weed.
Koh Tao
The small brother of the famous Koh Pha Ngan is a hotspot for divers, but also one of the most beautiful islands in Thailand. White sand beaches with the typical round giant stones and palm trees everywhere you go. Beach bars and parties on the crowded beaches like Sairee, and romantic lonely beaches
on the other side give you the choice depending on your actual mood. Especially the Sai Nuan Beach is a recommendation, when you´re looking for romance and privacy.
Koh Tao is also perfect for diving beginners. You can solve your PADI in 3 days for a very good price, and the dive spots are also great.
Food & Lifestyle
Bangkok is the mekka for thai food. Unbelievable currys, tasty Pad Thai, fingerfood inbetween on one of the street shacks - the possibilities are unlimited. Go to Pier 21 at Sukhumvit road and discover the variety of thai food for a dime.
